Leichhardt terrace

This project was a two bedroom semi-detached terrace with a living room and bathroom at the rear of the house.

The front two bedrooms were in a reasonable condition, but needed minor refurbishment works and rendering repairs due to rising damp issues.

The rear bathroom and living room were demolished to create an open plan living/kitchen/dining area and rear deck. A rear second storey edition was constructed which included one bedroom, bathroom and study.

The rear first floor edition was constructed using a modern compressed fibro sheeting with expressed joints. The residence was a tight site with the ground floor rear extension requiring excavation by hand through a small back lane.

A new ground floor extension was constructed to the boundary line with minimal disruption to the neighbours. This project was tendered through an archtects office and also contract managed by the architect.
