Darlinghurst terrace

This property was a Victorian two bedroom inner city two storey terrace.

The existing rear of the house had a typical terrace kitchen, bathroom and laundry lay out and was quite small and dark. The two bedrooms on the first floor were in a reasonable condition, as was the front ground floor living room.

The rear kitchen, bathroom and laundry were demolished to create an open plan living kitchen and dining area.

The laundry was relocated under the existing staircase and new timber floors were laid in the extension. This was a typical tight inner city site where Genuine Building Services built new external walls on the boundary line with minimal disruption to the neighbours.

Fire rated glass windows were installed to one boundary as well as three skylights into the living room to create an abundance of natural light.
